ArtNight Pasadena Fall 2021

OCT 8, 6-10PM

It’s ArtNight Pasadena time again!

You may remember Boston Court’s Six Feet Ap[ART] community art project from last spring’s Virtual ArtNight but now you can see it in person! The project will be on display in the lobby and the Branson, and we will have the Altadena Mobile Library in our parking lot, featuring books from the library’s collection and the Altadena Voices – Be Seen, Be Heard art project. No Reservation LA will also be in our parking lot serving up delicious eats all evening!

Keep reading for more information on all our ArtNight offerings below.

ART UPFRONT: Six Feet Ap[ART]

Created by Boston Court’s Friends and Neighbors

As 2020 turned to 2021, we wondered how our community was processing all that happened during the previous months and what brighter futures they were dreaming of. We thought, What better way to find out than by offering an opportunity to come together and express ourselves through a co-created art project? And thus Six Feet Ap[ART] was born.

This past spring, our community came together (socially distanced!) to paint their reflections on the past year and hopes for the future on wooden panels that we set up outside the Boston Court building. People of all ages, of different artistic abilities, and of different backgrounds contributed to this communal art project. Each person’s painted square contributed to the patchwork murals that are now on display in the Branson as our Art Up Front Gallery show throughout the fall.

Thank you to our Six Feet Ap[ART] collaborator, Lightbringer Project.

ALTADENA MOBILE LIBRARY

The Altadena mobile library extends the work of the Altadena Library District to new spaces and new audiences. Using the Curiosity Connection mobile library vehicle as a physical extension of the district, the mobile library produces novel and engaging experiences beyond the walls of our buildings. The Altadena Library is honored to work with new partners like Boston Court in our efforts to bring access, equity, and collaboration to our shared community.

For Art Night the library is bringing a curated collection of materials that can help provide meaning, context, and connection to the ongoing pandemic. These titles and resources can provide support or start healthy discussion on survival, grief, distance, and reconnection. The library is also bringing selections from the Altadena Town Council’s “Altadena Voices – Be Seen, Be Heard” community art program in 2020. Altadena Voices asked people to respond with artwork to the question: What does social justice mean to you? Canvases were provided at and collected by the Altadena Library

NO RESERVATION LA

Burgers. Wings. Cheesy fries. Need we say more?

A BIT ABOUT BOSTON COURT

Boston Court Pasadena is dedicated to creating and presenting works that are innovative, diverse, vital and adventurous in an intimate setting.

HISTORY

We opened our doors in 2003 after philanthropist Z. Clark Branson decided to give back to the Pasadena community that fostered his love of the arts from a young age. Mr. Branson built a state-of-the-art facility that includes a 99-seat Main Stage and an 80-seat flexible space. A non-profit entity (The Theatre at Boston Court d/b/a Boston Court Pasadena) was created and charged with maintaining the facility as well as programming and funding its operations.

Each year, we produce a season of more than 100 exciting performances in theatre and music, including an Emerging Artists Series and a New Play Reading Festival. We also showcase rotating visual art exhibits that complement the themes of our music and theatre programming.

Join Managing Director Cheryl Rizzo for a hysterical tour through the building we miss so much.
