[New Music]
Los Angeles-based chamber ensemble Bridge to Everywhere returns to Boston Court Pasadena for a cross-cultural program of contemporary music that reflects our interconnected world. This intimate concert consists entirely of original pieces written and arranged by Bridge to Everywhere ensemble members, including 6 world premieres. This new music explores connections across diverse musical traditions including Hindustani and Carnatic classical, Eastern European folk, traditional West African, American folk, Western classical, and jazz. The ensemble envisions this special program as a musical sandbox, where the group delves into new experimentations of electro-acoustics, novel instrumentations, and theatrical elements, together with their cross-cultural sounds.
ABOUT The Artists
Bridge to Everywhere is a collective of musicians whose passion and excitement for new music move them to take bold risks and explore the unfamiliar. From flute, violins and Hindustani vocals to electric guitar, oud and percussion from around the world, the ensemble strives to build new bridges between instruments, genres, cultures and people.
At its core, Bridge to Everywhere is a movement to promote compassion and empathy through music. The organization aspires to use music to bring people together to celebrate differences and find common ground. Furthermore, they believe that musical collaboration can serve as a model of how people from different backgrounds can work together to forge harmonious relationships. Through their performances and educational engagements, Bridge to Everywhere hopes that audiences will find new connections between musical traditions, and in turn, each other.
